How Secure Share Works
- Your data is encrypted locally in your browser
- The encrypted data is uploaded to Heimlane servers
- A unique link is generated containing the decryption key
- Only someone with the complete link can decrypt the data
- Heimlane never has access to your unencrypted content
Managing Your Shares
View all shares:
- Go to Tools > Secure Share
Delete a share:
- Find the share in your list
- Click the options menu (⋮)
- Select Delete
- The link immediately stops working
Copy link again:
- Click on the share, then click Copy link
Tips
- Share the password via a different channel (call, text, in-person)
- Use “Max access count: 1” for truly one-time sharing
- Delete shares immediately after they’re no longer needed
- Check access count to verify recipient received it
- For ongoing sharing, use Zones instead
