Overview

Heimlane Vault runs entirely on European infrastructure. Your encrypted vault is stored and processed in the EU, and it never leaves the EU. To stay resilient, we run across multiple independent cloud providers rather than depending on a single one.

Where We Host Your Data

We currently operate across two European providers and three data center locations:

All locations are within the European Union. We do not host or replicate your vault data outside the EU.

Why Multiple Cloud Providers

Running on more than one provider is a deliberate choice:

• Resilience: An outage or incident at a single provider cannot take your vault offline.
• No vendor lock-in: We are not dependent on the pricing, policies, or availability of one company.
• Redundancy: Critical data is replicated across independent infrastructure.

Your Data Stays in the EU

Hosting exclusively in France and Germany means:

• Your data is subject to EU data-protection law, including the GDPR.
• There is no transfer of your vault data to providers or jurisdictions outside the EU.
• EU data residency supports your own compliance obligations, including NIS2.

Encrypted Everywhere

Where your data is hosted matters, but it is only one layer. Your vault is protected by zero-knowledge encryption: everything is encrypted on your device before it reaches our servers. Even within our own EU infrastructure, we only ever store encrypted data that we cannot read.

Your Region Is Already Set

The Heimlane cloud runs as a single region within the EU, so there is nothing to choose or configure. The Heimlane apps point to our EU infrastructure by default, and your vault stays there.
