Overview
Secure Notes let you store any sensitive text information in your encrypted vault - from software licenses to Wi-Fi passwords to private documents.
Creating a Secure Note
- Click + New in your vault
- Select Secure Note
- Enter a Name for the note
- Type or paste your content in the Notes field
- (Optional) Select a Folder for organization
- Click Save
What to Store in Secure Notes
Common uses for secure notes:
- Software licenses - Product keys, serial numbers
- Wi-Fi passwords - Home, office, frequently visited locations
- Security codes - Alarm codes, safe combinations
- Recovery codes - Two-factor authentication backup codes
- Private documents - Sensitive personal information
- Server credentials - SSH keys, API tokens
- Insurance information - Policy numbers, contact details
Formatting Options
The notes field supports plain text. For better organization:
- Use blank lines to separate sections
- Use dashes or asterisks for bullet points
- Use ALL CAPS for headings
- Include dates for time-sensitive information
Attaching Files
Note: File attachments are a premium feature.
You can attach files to secure notes:
- Open the secure note
- Click Edit
- Scroll to Attachments
- Click Choose Files or drag and drop
- Click Save
Supported: Any file type up to 100MB per file.
Tips
- Use descriptive names so notes are easy to find
- Include the service or purpose in the note title
- Regularly review and update notes with outdated information
- For passwords, consider using a Login entry instead (enables autofill)
