Editing a Password Entry

Update your stored credentials

Overview

Update your stored credentials when passwords change or you need to add more information.

Steps

  1. Find the entry in your vault

    • Use the search bar to find it quickly
    • Or browse through your folders
  2. Open the entry

    • Click on the item name to view details
  3. Click Edit (pencil icon) or the Edit button

  4. Make your changes

    • Update password, username, URL, or any other field
    • Add notes or custom fields
  5. Click Save

Viewing Password History

Vault keeps a history of previous passwords for each entry:

  1. Open the login entry
  2. Click Password History (clock icon)
  3. View previous passwords with timestamps
  4. Click any old password to copy it

Tips

  • Vault automatically saves password history when you update passwords
  • Use password history to recover accidentally overwritten passwords
  • The history shows when each password was used
