Overview
This article is specific to the Heimlane Vault Android app. Android offers a few different ways for Vault to fill your logins. If autofill is not working in an app or browser, check the options below.
Open the autofill settings
In Heimlane Vault, go to Settings > Autofill.
Autofill services (the main option)
Turn on Autofill services to let Vault fill logins in other apps using Android’s autofill framework. If the switch cannot open your system settings, open Android Settings > Passwords & accounts (or System > Languages & input > Autofill service) and choose Heimlane Vault.
Display autofill suggestions (inline or overlay)
Use Display autofill suggestions to choose whether suggestions appear inline in your keyboard (if your keyboard supports it) or as a separate overlay. If suggestions never appear, try switching this option.
Use accessibility
Some apps do not expose their fields to the autofill framework. Turn on Use accessibility to let Vault fill those apps and to use the Quick-Action Tile. Android asks you to confirm the accessibility permission first; Heimlane uses it only to find login fields and never to read or control other on-screen content.
Browser autofill integration
Some browsers (Chrome and others) need extra permission to autofill. Turn on browser autofill integration and follow the prompts for your browser.
Still not working?
- Confirm Heimlane Vault is selected as the autofill service in Android settings.
- Turn the Autofill services switch off and on again.
- For an app that still will not fill, enable Use accessibility.
- For a browser, enable browser autofill integration.
- Check that the login’s saved web address matches the app or site (see URI match detection).
