Welcome to Heimlane Vault! Here are the first things to do after creating your account.
1. Verify your email
After signing up, check your inbox for a verification email and click the link. If it doesn’t arrive, use Resend Verification Email on the confirmation page (and check your spam folder).
2. Add your first item
In your web vault, click Add Your First Item (or Add) and choose Password. Enter the website, username and password, then Save. You can also add Secure Notes, Payment Cards, Identities and SSH Keys.
3. Bring in your existing passwords (optional)
From the Dashboard, use Import secrets to open the Import Vault page, then upload an export from your old password manager. See Importing Your Passwords.
4. Turn on two-factor authentication
Go to Settings > Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), click Set up next to Authenticator App, scan the QR code, and enter the 6-digit code. Save your recovery codes. See Two-Factor Authentication.
5. Get the apps
Install the browser extension and mobile apps from the Get Apps page, so your vault is with you everywhere.
Tips
- Your master password can’t be recovered - keep it safe. See Choosing a Strong Master Password.
- Store your 2FA recovery codes somewhere safe, separate from your vault.
