Overview
Use Heimlane Vault on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. The mobile apps provide full vault access plus autofill for apps and browsers.
Download
iOS (iPhone & iPad):
- Download from App Store (Coming Soon)
Android:
- Download from Google Play (Coming Soon)
Setting Up
- Download and open the app
- Tap Log In
- Enter your email address
- Enter your master password
- Complete 2FA if enabled
- Your vault syncs automatically
Enable Autofill
On iOS:
- Go to iOS Settings > Passwords
- Tap Password Options
- Enable AutoFill Passwords
- Select Heimlane Vault
On Android:
- Go to Android Settings > System > Languages & Input
- Tap Autofill service
- Select Heimlane Vault
- Confirm the permission
Using Autofill
When you encounter a login screen:
iOS:
- Tap the username or password field
- Tap Passwords above the keyboard (or the key icon)
- Authenticate with Face ID/Touch ID
- Select the matching login
Android:
- Tap the username or password field
- Tap the Vault autofill suggestion
- Authenticate if prompted
- Credentials fill automatically
Biometric Unlock
Enable Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint for faster access:
- Open the Vault app
- Go to Settings > Security
- Enable Unlock with Face ID / Unlock with Biometrics
- Confirm with your master password
You’ll still need your master password:
- After app updates
- After device restart
- Periodically for security (configurable)
Mobile-Specific Features
Quick Copy:
- Long-press any item to copy username or password
Camera Scan:
- Scan QR codes to add TOTP authenticators
- Scan documents to add as secure notes
Widgets (iOS):
- Add favorites widget to Home Screen
- Quick access to frequently used items
Quick Settings Tile (Android):
- Add Vault to quick settings
- One-tap access to vault
Security Settings
Customize security for your mobile device:

Troubleshooting
Problem: Autofill not appearing
Solutions:
- Check autofill is enabled in device settings
- Ensure you’re logged into the Vault app
- Some apps block autofill - use copy/paste instead
Problem: Biometric unlock not working
Solutions:
- Re-enable in Vault settings
- Check device biometric settings
- Enter master password to reset
Problem: App crashes or freezes
Solutions:
- Update to the latest version
- Restart your device
- Reinstall the app (your data syncs from cloud)
Tips
- Enable biometric unlock for convenience without sacrificing security
- Use the share extension to save new logins
- Pin frequently used items for quick access
- Set up Apple Watch / Wear OS companion if available
