Permanently remove your Vault account

Overview

You can permanently delete your Heimlane Vault account at any time. It is irreversible - all your data is permanently destroyed and nothing can be recovered.

Export your data first

Before deleting, export your vault: go to Settings > Danger Zone > Export Vault (see Export Your Vault).

Deleting your account

  1. In your web vault, open Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom.
  2. Click Delete Account.
  3. Confirm your identity with your master password.
  4. Review what will be deleted - your items, folders, file shares, attachments, Shared Vault memberships, and two-factor settings.
  5. Optionally tell us why you’re leaving.
  6. Complete the final confirmation: tick all the checkboxes, paste the security code shown on screen, and type YES DELETE MY ACCOUNT PERMANENTLY (case-sensitive).
  7. Click DELETE ACCOUNT FOREVER.

You’re then signed out of all devices and your account and data are gone.

Good to know

  • If you have a Premium subscription, deleting your account cancels it immediately, with no refund for unused time.
  • If you are the sole owner of a Shared Vault, you can’t delete your account until you transfer ownership of, or delete, that Shared Vault. Use Manage Shared Vaults to do that first.

Just want to clear your items?

The Danger Zone also has Purge Personal Vault, which deletes all your personal items and folders but keeps your account and settings (Shared Vault items aren’t affected). It asks you to type DELETE to confirm.

Tips

  • Export your data first - always.
  • This cannot be undone; be certain before you start.
