Built-in protection for every account

Heimlane Vault does more than store passwords: it checks them, protects the account itself, and plans for the day you cannot sign in.

Emergency Access

Name a trusted contact who can request access to your vault if something happens to you. You choose a waiting period of 7, 14 or 30 days and can reject the request at any time before it ends. Access is read-only: your contact can never change your vault or lock you out.

Hardware security keys (FIDO2)

Protect your sign-in with a FIDO2 / WebAuthn security key, such as a YubiKey, on top of your master password. Register up to 5 keys per account, so a lost key never locks you out.

Breach checks

Find out whether your passwords appear in known data breaches. The check relies on k-anonymity: only a short fragment of the password's hash leaves your device, never the password itself.

Login with Device

Sign in on a new device by approving the request from a device where you are already signed in, without typing your master password. The vault key is passed encrypted for that new device only: Heimlane never sees it.

Import from any CSV

Moving from another tool? Vault recognizes common export formats automatically. For anything else, map each column of your CSV file on screen and preview exactly what will be imported before you confirm. Items are encrypted on your device as they are imported.

Is it really free?
Yes. The free tier includes unlimited passwords on unlimited devices, forever. Paid plans exist for premium features, families and teams: you will see them inside your vault.
What is the difference between Premium, Premium Plus and Family?
Premium is for one person and adds encrypted file storage, 2FA codes, security reports, hardware security keys and Emergency Access. Premium Plus gives the same to two people, with a shared vault. Family covers six people: everyone keeps a private vault, plus a Family vault and a Parents vault to share what you choose.
Can I share passwords with my family?
Yes. With Premium Plus or Family, you share the logins you choose through a shared vault, like the streaming account or the home Wi-Fi, while everyone's private vault stays private.
Can I import my existing passwords?
Yes. Vault is Bitwarden-compatible and imports from major password managers and browsers. The help center has a step-by-step import guide.
Can Heimlane see my passwords?
No. Vault is zero-knowledge: your data is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your master password, and Heimlane only ever stores encrypted data. The flip side is that nobody can recover a forgotten master password, not even Heimlane, so keep it safe, or name a trusted contact with Emergency Access.
What if I want to leave?
Your data is yours. You can export your full vault at any time, in standard formats, from the app.
